In the petrochemical extrusion granulation machinery, rubber and plastic extrusion, chemical powder processing, and lithium battery mixing industries, core components such as extrusion mixing shafts, propeller blades, and extrusion heads are subjected to harsh operating conditions characterized by severe abrasive wear, medium corrosion, and continuous high temperatures. For a long time, the wear-resistant reinforcement and repair solutions for these components in the petrochemical industry have relied solely on imported Ultimet cobalt-based alloy welding materials; this approach not only involves lengthy procurement cycles and unstable supply reliability but also results in persistently high material unit prices, significantly increasing the operational and maintenance costs as well as the manufacturing costs for new products.
The components share identical performance characteristics, and they are fully compatible with all operating conditions without any discrepancy.



Co-based welding wire Milestone CoUTM R31233 replicates the alloy core composition of Ultimet; its hard-surfaced weld deposit simultaneously offers three key advantages.
Exceptional resistance to abrasive erosion: Designed for continuous scraping wear caused by heavy-duty transmission components in coking equipment, offshore oil and gas applications, and hard powder materials,Significantly extend the service life of the diversion screw head, mixing shaft, and extrusion components.

Excellent resistance to medium corrosion: withstands corrosion from chemical raw materials, acidic/basic powders, and is suitable for heavy-duty transmission components in chemical and coking equipment.
Stable high-temperature performance: maintains hardness without degradation under high-temperature conditions, eliminates the risk of softening failure, and is suitable for continuous high-temperature extrusion operations.




As shown in the actual photograph, the head assembly of the petrochemical twin-screw extrusion granulator includes an extrusion mixing spindle and an extrusion end section, all manufactured using Milestone Co's UTM R31233 fully automated overlay welding process. Combined with a roller rotation fixture for shaft components and a low-heat-input automatic overlay welding technique, this system achieves high welding wire deposition efficiency, uniform weld surfaces, minimal heat-affected zones, and effectively addresses deformation challenges associated with overlay welding on long-shaft components.
